a simple day in outer space.

A new wallie from me. I really tried to keep it simple but I spent some time on this dusty neb. All in all it fills the desctop good. Enjoy it. I really appreciate all comments and favs! :)

PS to *ChrisCold - no I wont put a radial gradient on top of all :P

Edit (09.01.2010): Added some more stars, edited a bit the nebula in the top right corner, added sunglow on top of all just for *ChrisCold :) Hope you enjoy.

Now a Print version too :P And that is about all. Hope it stays good on your desktops.

I get a very strong sense of peace when viewing this deviation, the cold blue nebula gives off a very calming feel and is really easy on the eyes, and it does indeed, have a very dusty feel to it, so you did a really nice minimalistic job on that! I also like what you did with the 2 stars next to eachother, dont see that too often.

Planet is pretty much flawless, perhaps a slight color variation to liven up the atmosphere. The smaller planet eclipsing the larger sun seems a little bit out of place, due to its lighting, I'm assuming its supposed to be further away from the largest planet, and if thats the case, I think it should be brighter, giving it a much more distant view.

Now the starfield, it may have been your choice to keep it simple in this one, but for me, it seems a little dull, bringing down the life in the piece just a bit.. perhaps maybe just a few brighter stars here and there, nothing overboard, just something so the viewers eyes can light up, although it isnt the main focus of the scene, so its very minor. Besides, I know you could do a really awesome starfield if you wanted, so I'm not worried.

Over all, this is a very enjoyable scene to look at, with some very minor issues. Your work has that soft feel to it, giving the viewer a very realistic view. Nothing is oversharpened and all of the objects seem to fit in place. Just keep it up man, dont be afraid to try different techniques, and deffinately dont be afraid to try something crazy Its all about trial and error. Your space art future looks very bright.
